Event #40 - Tom King Classic 5k

It has been a couple of weeks since our 40th race, the Tom King Classic 5k. We were completely overwhelmed by the support we received for this race. Not only through all of the donations we were given (over $2500 in the weeks leading up to the race alone), but especially by the people who signed up to run with us.

On the morning of the race, we had 9 total runners, all in Team G Shock shirts! It was a little chilly, but once the race started it warmed up. Nate & I had run this course before, so we knew it was flat and a fairly easy course to run. We all started together, and even got a group photo before the race.

We all spread out once we got going, but it was great to see our teammates (and new shirts!) along the way. And it was really fun to see some blue shirts up on the jumbotron at the finish line!

Everyone was pretty happy with their results, and we had a really good time having some teammates out there with us! We're looking forward to running some more races soon, hopefully with some of our new runners!

Before we get to the details of our 40th race, which we can't wait to share, we wanted to take a moment to thank each and every person who joined us for this race - whether that was by actually running with us, or by donating to the cause, or both! We started this campaign exactly 6 weeks ago. In that time, we received 51 donations for a total of $2580 raised for this race alone. That brings our all-time donations to $8445, which is so close to our goal! Without all of the people below, and the rest of our supporters (listed on our Honor Roll), we never could have made it this far. Each and every donation not only helps motivate us on our runs, but also helps get the world one step closer to finding a cure!

So thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for everything you have all done to help us. We are so touched by the support, and will keep going as long as it takes.

New Shirts For The Big Race!

We picked up our new Team G Shock shirts yesterday, and are so excited to have them for tomorrow's race. We wanted to give everyone a sneak preview of what they look like, so here you go.

They are pretty similar to our last shirts, but with a little update! Keep an eye out for these shirts on Saturday and in many races to come! GOOO G SHOCK! 

Team G Shock's 40th Race = THIS WEEK!

That's right...we are getting closer and closer to race day for our 40th race, and we can't wait! We had an AMAZING week thanks to all of our family and friends (and some of their families and friends).

We gained 4 (that's right) new runners this week, and are SO excited to have them all join us! Signing up this week were Honnah Bakhtiary and Morgan Green from Nate's office, and John Monson and Samantha Storey from my office. We are excited to have so many people running along side us on Saturday!

We were also able to make some big gains in the fundraising department, thanks to our new runners and some other friends! I especially enjoyed the donations received on my birthday on Thursday...it really made the day even more special!

We have raised a total of $2,440 during our race #40 campaign, which brings our total for Team G Shock so far to $8,305! We are SO close to our goal of $10,000, and we have YOU all to thank!

The race will kick off this Saturday (March 9th), and we will need all of the support we can get! If you're in Nashville, come on out and cheer us on - good news, it will be WAY warmer than last weekend. If you are one of our far away friends, please send good thoughts for all of our Team G Shock runners!
